I hate to put the focus on myself; I work better in the background. So I'll keep it short.

My favorite hobby is treasure hunting the Kuroshio current; across from Maui, and a direct line from Japan.

I grew up on a tiny Pacific island. When I say tiny, I mean.. dirt roads, no stop lights, and those personal pan pizzas from Pizza Hut were brought over on a boat from Lahaina once a year. Thank you, Book it! Cold, and a pure joy hard to replicate.

I fear I've aged myself.

In second grade, I barely spoke. Mrs. Hera said I was funny, but she didn't realize it until she read my writing.

Ironically, I spent my teenage years obsessed with Stephen King.

After a glorious childhood in the subtropics and some hard-earned education, I now live in the Pacific Northwest with my newly-driving teenage son (everything is fine) and my two dogs in a cottage under an 100-year old apple tree. Life has slowed down and sped up at the same time.

This is Mochi, the most terrible, wonderful dog in the universe.

The streets are lined with cherry blossoms. The little free libraries are annoyingly prolific. And the dog bowls that line the quaint historic yards exemplify the heart of the dog-loving, vest wearing, outdoorsy people of this glorious coast. It is never, ever boring here.

My dogs don't like the cats of the neighborhood, but I do.

Anyway, now you know I like pizza. Context is important.

I've always had a deep need to express myself creatively. Luckily, I experienced the birth of the web.. and 1992 HTML (We'll save those flashing monstrosities for another post), so I'm capable enough to let tech help me do that. I am no technology expert, but I love learning and am always exploring new ways to grow.

I'm not sure how I'll use these blogs. For now, I'll be showcasing professional work with a few whimsical side tangents. I'm looking to pivot my career from marketing-focused to more writing focused. I’ve done a little bit of everything in communication and now I’m looking to channel that breadth into depth.

Thanks for reading. Cheers!
